The car below was this weeks allowance for JG. We are trying to raise Joe with an understanding of responsibility- to his family, to himself, to his house hold, and to his community. To that means he helps me with a growing variety of house hold chores. While he is only 3.5, he is very good about helping out with these tasks, and welcomes new responsibilities.
We had a nice talk in the car the other day, about how much I appreciate his willingness to help out. I told him as a sign of appreciation for his efforts, and a reward for his hard work, every week when we do our grocery shopping he can pick out a new Hot Wheels to add to his favorite collection. It may only be $0.97 a week, but it seems to mean more to him.
